Footwear Expo 2008!

By the time this hits the feed, the Footwear Expo should be open. Yeah! I was one of the first (actually I think I WAS the first -- I was having so much fun) to finish their shop in this city of small shops amid skyscrapers. It's been fun watching the stores being filled. So many lovely things and so much talent. It's amazing.

So be sure and stop by. If you see a LOT of green dots on the map, low prim hair et al would be a good idea. If you are wondering how much impact YOUR avi has on the grid you can test it. See my post here.

Explorer Sandals for Women

No I haven't got two different shoes on (wink). This is simply the vendor picture from the new Explorer Sandals for Women. The mens version has been so popular with women (assuming from their names) buying the mens version, that I decided to make some for the ladies.

Many of the details are similar. They are two toned and with a low heel. The base is wooden with a leather insole. The come in the three colors you see above: smoke, charcoal and chestnut. There is a real life version to see up close and personal on the platform at the store entrance.

Starting at the beginning of May (a month from now) I will be awarding a free SS item to someone from the Samara Studios Fashion group that has a Samara Studios store in their picks. Untied Sandals

The newest addition to Shoes Simply Shoes -- and the best women's shoes I've made to date -- are now out. The wooden stacked heels are high; the grommets abundant; the ties casually NOT tied. Somewhere between classy and fun, these sandals go with many different types of outfits.



They come in five colors. The smoke and charcoal leathers are matched with a rich dark mahogany heel which gives them a more businesslike air. The brownish tones of putty, latte and chestnut are paired with a stacked wooden heel in a variety of coordinating wood tones.

Pretty in Pink

This is my look of the afternoon -- and no the overalls are NOT mine. Sometimes we just want to PLAY and today was that kind of day for me. So when a fashcon notice came out with these overalls from Lisa Marie's at Barks/21/117/24 - I went to see. And they are SO VERY CUTE. I am not a girlie girl, but these are perfect. No frills and just enough feminine details (they DO come in colors besides pink) to remind yourself that these are NOT your grandfather's overalls.

And SO I went out to play in the fields. I have been really getting into photography of late (hence photo studio - remodel of shoe store with "art" et al) and I remembered seeing giant pink flowered fields. Well here I am in the Wizard of Oz esce countryside. Only in one direction unfortunately which meant I had to shoot into the sun. But challenges are good and I had a great time.




Overalls by lisaper Petrov. A blouse from the Tawny collection, a Tied Up shirt in white gauze and Elana Sandals in rose from my shop make a fantastic combo I think. Earrings (free) by Untone (they are the pink version). Ah the coordination (wink).

Shoe Store Remodel

With some great poses from Long Awkward Pose -- Carolina Beach 21/164/22 -- , a modicum of patience and a LOT of changing outfits, the shoe store at Samara Studios has a face lift. It might look more like an art gallery than a shoe store, but I was getting OH so tired of all those shoes in circles. The shoes are still there. Even the circles are in evidence, but I hope the new layout and ambiance will be both pleasing and easier to shop. So take a look at the new Shoes Simply Shoes when you are in the neighborhood.




You get bonus points (not redeemable for ANYTHING of import) if you can guess where all the photos were taken. These two are easy. The others a bit more of a challenge.

Spring's a Comin'

While it may not be Spring yet in your real life world -- and it certainly isn't in mine -- Spring is coming to Samara Studios in February. I don't have to be a mind reader to know people are READY! I only have to note that sandal sales are WAY up and that backless tops are outselling some very popular sweaters and such (big wink).

So, in case you were wondering what I've been DOING of late ... I have been working on the Spring collections. So far I have a lovely strapless white number with three skirt lengths and pastel ruffles (some pants are in there also and a bracelet) as well as the ever popular No Back Pocket Jeans in pastel colors along with matching tanks. There are three dresses of different pastel prints in the Primavera Collection. AND we have new matching sandals in dusty pastels and white. So if coordination is your desire, you are in luck this season at Samara Studios.

The new Spring items (those listed and others) go up on the walls at the beginning of February when the jackets and sweaters go into mothballs for the warmer months. So keep an eye out. There will be a new "from the wall" freebie for February also.

Reheli Boots

There's nothing terribly TAME about these new boots. Basic black? Well -- yes (wink) but with shiny textured silver accents and "engraved" touches, they certainly stand out in a crowd. Still sleek, still classy -- but definitely statement makers.

Shoes - Up Close and Personal

Prim richness DOES have its advantages (see the new garden annex post)! With all those extra prims I am able to once again have EACH pair of shoes on display. See them in all their prim glory on stands in the rear of the store. Sale items have move back into the shoe store proper also. So, there is no need to go hunting for bargains; everything is in one spot.

Don't forget to check the lucky chair. It now contains CLOTHES!

New Shoe Sale Shop!

I've been making so many new boots lately that even with enlargement the shoe store was getting crowded. So I added a small SALE shop right outside the main showroom. Currently there are three styles of shoes on sale for women and two pair for guys (don't worry guys I am working on some GREAT new boots for you).

Spectator Heels for Gals

High heeled boots that go from casual to slightly dressy. Subtlely two toned to show off the detail. Gold metal accents. Great with pants (you'll need pants as undies to fit inside those sleek boots) or sassy skirts. My personal favorite color -- so far -- is VIOLET! Who'd a thunk it?
